Phil Robinson, a volleyball high school and college referee 1990-2010 and treasurer for the Spokane Area Volleyball Referees Association for the past 20 years, was inducted into the SAVRA Hall of Fame at the association’s season-ending banquet.

SAVRA SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICE

SAVRA is seeking self-nominations or nominations of other members for the following positions on the Board of Directors and committees:

  • Vice President – Serves 2023 as VP, 2024 as president, and 2025 as past president (state- or national-rated official)

  • Secretary – Serves a two-year term as board secretary, 2023-2024

  • Members at Large – Two two-year terms running 2023-2024; and one one-year term for 2023

  • Rating Committee – One position for a three-year term 2023-2025 (state- or national-rated official)

  • Appeals Committee – One position for a three-year term

At the recent Western 5 Consortium meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, Margie Ray was recognized for her 25 years of officiating in the Pac 12!

Linda Kildew was recognized as an outstanding scorer in the UW vs. WSU match where the fourth set went to 44 to 42.

Retired referee Ron Walker was honored for his contributions over 30 years.

Members of the Spokane Area Volleyball Referees Association voted Sydney Spray official of the year, and her mom, Debbie Spray, partner of the year. Assigner and referee Alan Hirayama was voted contributor of the year, Kody Wynn top first-year official, Corbin Wilson top second-year official and most improved, Tyler Martindale top third-year official. Retired referee Ron Walker was honored for his contributions over 30 years.
