Advanced Training Program

Training and mentoring are important parts of every official’s development, not just in the beginning, but throughout her or his career. SAVRA offers advanced training for any official who has the basic fundamentals down, but aspires to continue growing in this officiating endeavor.  As an association, we desire to see our officials continually grow as they refine their skills, knowledge and confidence.  Our Advanced Training Program is facilitated by experienced, Nationally rated, veterans of the sport.   Program participants meet weekly to train, dissect advanced parts of the officiating game, discuss game situations, address questions and, when applicable, prepare for floor trials.  Our training classes run Sunday nights during the fall season, from 5-6 p.m. at Gonzaga University (see Calendar for Meeting Room Info.). If you have officiated volleyball for at least one year – or for 30 years – and desire advanced training, please contact any of our mentors. They can provide more information about becoming a part of this group. Or just show up.
